On the Bookshelf...and in the DVD player.

After hours of watching the evidence myself, I realized that in today's society, the idea of quality television programs include reality shows with no sufficient substantiality for real life. Programs on VH1, displaying trashy women who vie for the attention of a washed out musician, who consistently wears a bandana and a straw cowboy hat to hide his chronic bad hair. Yeah, I think you know who I'm talking about. (And if you don't, it's Brett Michaels of Rock of Love)
The other day I picked up from the library Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
and I have to say, I've completely surrendered myself to the words of this
great girly novel.
Winifred Watson's best selling novel is about a 40-something governess living in 1930s London. Enter Delysia LaFosse, a glamour girl with a complicated love life, but a killer wardrobe and London flat. When Miss Pettigrew's employment agency sends her to work for Miss LaFosse, she not only meets a new friend, but experiences a life that she's always missed out on.
Some of you also have seen the movie adaptation of the same name, starring Frances McDormand and Amy Adams (one of my fashion icons).
Definitely pick this book up while out on your morning Starbucks run.
Carpe Diem,
Indy

Amy Adams as Delysia, I absolutely adore this head band!

The ever-so-adorable Lee Pace as Michael, one of Delysia's suitors.

The delightful Miss Pettigrew.

Glamour; Courtesty of Shirley Henderson and Amy Adams

Inspiration for my future apartment.
